Avril Lavigne The Best Damn Thing

Avril Lavigne Under My Skin Pop Music CD Review

Under My Skin is the latest release from Pop Superstar Avril Lavigne, and I can only think of one word to describe it… AWESOME!

I wish it weren’t the case but, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Under My Skin. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

Under My Skin is a nicely varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly talented artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are her own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.

If you’re a Avril Lavigne fan this is a CD your collection flat cannot be without. In fact, this is one of those CDs that you don’t even have to be a fan of Lavigne, or even Pop to know is good. It’s just good music. Period.

While the entire CD is outstanding the truly standout tunes are track 3 – Don’t Tell Me, track 6 – My Happy Ending, and track 12 – Slipped Away.

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 – Take Me Away. This is a great track!

Ke$ha Likes Kissing Girls

The AdvocatePop sensation Ke$ha is featured in a Q&A in the latest issue of gay monthly The Advocate (the one with Portia de Rossi on the cover), where she discussed her hard-partying ways, her own fuzzy sexuality and her love for gay men. In response to the accusation by some that she’s been talking about liking women just to sell records she said:

“I mean, was I using that to sell records when I made out with chicks before I had a record out? I don’t realty care what people think. I just have to be myself. Like I just said, if I feel like kissing a woman, I will. I don’t really think I should have to explain that to any critic because I’m not asking them who they are going home and fucking.”

Avril’s ProActiv Commericals are a Success

Avril has been the spokesperson for ProActiv on commercials for a while now. I even saw it aired at a nearby pizzeria this week! Always great to see Avril while out and about, right?

If you haven’t seen the commercial, Avril’s speaks of how the product helped her with her struggle with acne, one she struggled with since the start of high school. Avril states on the commercial, “After trying everything–from toothpaste to rubbing alcohol, men’s aftershave to tea tree oil–I started using Proactiv. Fortunately, it really worked for me. Today, I still use Proactiv to help keep my skin clear.”
