Exclusive: Conan’s Twitter Follower Talks

bd4450b7f8Killen.jpg Exclusive: Conans Twitter Follower TalksUntil yesterday, Sarah Killen was just a 19-year-old from Michigan tweeting under the name @LovelyButton. Now, she’s famous for being the only person Conan O’Brien is following on his brand new Twitter account. Sarah called Crushable this morning to talk about how, in addition to peanut butter and gummy dinosaurs, she also loves music, being outside, and watching Maury every day.

Tell us about yourself.
I live in Michigan. I actually live in a village, it’s not even a town, it’s a really small place. I didn’t really use the internet. I did Twitter so I could say stuff on there that nobody would see, now there’s 10,000 people looking at it.

What do you do?
I’m going to school online right now, getting my diploma. I’d really like to go to the University of Michigan. I really like psychology and neurobiology.

How did this Conan following you come about?
He actually had someone else contact me on MySpace and Facebook the day before. I got it that morning and said “Go for it.” I wasn’t really taking it seriously until I saw his tweet with my name in it, and I started getting hundreds of followers every minute.

Have you felt pressure to use your Twitter more?
I’m actually staying with my fiance’s family, and there’s a lot of women in the house, so I got Twitter to write about stuff when I got upset. Now I can’t say anything because they’re all following it!

Are you a big Conan fan?
We love him. I think he’s hilarious. I go to bed really early and I would stay up to watch him. It sucked [when his show ended]. We watched the last one.

How has your life changed since he started following you?
A couple of days ago, I didn’t know how we were going to pay for the wedding, and I didn’t have a computer that worked all the time for school and stuff. Now someone’s bought me a new computer, someone wants to pay for stuff for my wedding. Last time I looked this morning, people had donated $1500 to the 3-Day for the Cure, because I’m doing the [breast cancer awareness] walk. I put my link on there and people have donated $1500. It’s really exciting.

Do you think this wave of fame will change your life?
I hope so. I think it’ll last a couple more days and then people will get bored.

Are you going to try to extend your internet fame for as long as possible?
I’m gonna try to milk it!

How has your family reacted?
My mother won’t let my sisters on the computer! They’re not allowed near the computer for a while. My mom’s really excited. My dad didn’t believe me until he looked it up.

Have your friends said anything?
A lot of girls are getting kind of snotty.

Have a lot of people tried to contact you?
It was really weird. I found out and then I told my fiancé, he came to the house and the phone started ringing. I have 4000 messages in email — nobody’s able to get a hold of me anymore. They found that I was with [my fiancé], and they looked him up his name and got his dad’s business phone number and started blowing that number up.

Did you ever expect it to get this crazy this quickly?
I really didn’t take it seriously until I had a couple of thousand followers. I was like “This is nuts.” I thought it was going to stop there, but it’s still going today too. I thought it would be over by today.

Avril Lavigne Performs ‘Alice’ On The Tonight Show with Jay Lame-o

Avril pretty much nails this song live. Can’t wait for her new album! I still wish she would stop trying to be glamorous. Glamour and cool never go together, and she seemed a lot more mature before she discovered hair, clothes and makeup .Her last album was so impersonal…who IS Avril Lavigne anyway, as a person, as an artist? I don’t know anymore. Hope she gets it back with the new album!

Poll: How Did J. Lo Do On SNL?

Jennifer LopezIt’s been a rough week for Jennifer Lopez, what with the loss of her record contract and all. But she showed no sense of buckling under the pressure of the media scrutiny of her life as she hosted Saturday Night Live last night (except maybe in the somewhat off-key singing of her two songs during the show).

Like any SNL ep, the show had highs and lows. Our favorite moments: the “We Are The World” remake parody at the start of the show and another sketch in which J. Lo played herself and went a little crazy with the Latina, yelling “Ay, ay, ay!” She’s very adept at making fun of herself, which actually makes her pretty endearing.

If you watched the show last night (or this morning on the DVR) how do you think J. Lo did? Take our poll below and let us know.

Sweet Repeat: Blake Lively’s Plunging V

Blake LivelyBlake Lively’s love affair with the plunging-V neckline is well documented. She’s been spotted at premieres, parties, galas, and screenings donning the same neckline for more than a year and a half. Why shouldn’t Blake embrace a style that flatters some of her…um…assets? (Seriously — we’re not trying to be creepy, but her rack always looks amazing. We’re jealous.)

With Blake’s style in mind, we’ve dedicated a photo gallery to the repeat offender and her love of all things low, plunging, and V-shaped. Check it out below

XOXO

‘Idol’ Alum Lisa Tucker Ranks The Men

8cebbcb0dalogo2.jpg ‘Idol’ Alum Lisa Tucker Ranks The MenLisa Tucker has been there, sang that on American Idol. At just 16, she cracked the top 12 on the show’s fifth season, holding her own before 30 million viewers (who eventually voted for Taylor Hicks).

Lisa is recording a new album (under Ne-Yo’s label), but she still makes a date to watch Idol’s season-nine contestants try not to freak out in front of Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges’ panel.

Like Simon, she has her favorites and those she finds forgettable — and she has strong opinions on the guy semifinalists, who performed last night. (Did you see? It was pretty rough).

“No one really blew me away,” she said by phone from Los Angeles.

She chalked the male disappointment up to nerves — it is their first week live, after all — and also bad song choice.

Here’s Lisa on frontrunner Andrew Garcia’s cover of “Sugar We’re Going Down”: “I was really expecting him to do something out of the box and different. … Next week, he’s gonna take that criticism and do something about it.”

On slick R&B singer Jermaine Sellers (“Get Here”): “That song is just, like, an Idol song. (Editor’s note: It so is, and straight out of the Justin Guarini songbook too). I just wish he didn’t pick that song. … It made him seem older.”

On retro rocker Tyler Grady (“American Woman”): “There’s a fine line between being a gimmick and capturing an era. … If he didn’t dress like that, I’m not sure he would’ve gone through (to Hollywood).”

On big guy/new daddy Michael Lynche (“This Love”): “He’s really sweet. I wasn’t blown away by his performance. What lane would he be in?”

On Texas boy Alex Lambert (“Wonderful World”): “He was terrified up there — with just cause. I just want him to shake it off and come back next week.”

Although it’s still early in the season, Lisa graciously agreed to let us in on which guys she envisions in the finals: Andrew Garcia, Alex Lambert, Casey James, Todrick Hall and judge fave Lee Dewyze, whose gravelly soul voice she compared to Chris Daughtry.

As for tonight’s results show, which dude could Idol lose?

Lisa thinks Michael Lynche should go but Jermaine Sellers might see the door instead.

What do you think? Are the guys a letdown — or do they rock? Do you think the girls are better than the boys?
