Feldman Reacts To ‘Brother’ Corey’s Death

The CoreysCorey Feldman, who starred with Corey Haim in The Lost Boys, License To Drive and, most recently, their reality show The Two Coreys, has put out a statement reacting to Haim’s death earlier today:

“I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived.”

Erin Andrews On ‘DWTS’: Bimbo-fying?

Erin AndrewsHere’s an interesting take on the decision of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews to join the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars: she’s taking her peep-hole scandal one step further by launching herself “into the sphere of celebrity,” which is “becoming a greater draw than her journalism.”

Since being a female sports reporter is working in a man’s world, once she slaps on the sparkles and spandex she may never be taken seriously in her profession again. That may be true, but there’s also been a number of male pro athletes who have bravely donned glittery bell bottoms and dance shoes, with no detriment to their masculinity. It might be career suicide for Erin, or it might be exactly what she needs to take her fame to the next level. [Double X]

Poll: How Did J. Lo Do On SNL?

Jennifer LopezIt’s been a rough week for Jennifer Lopez, what with the loss of her record contract and all. But she showed no sense of buckling under the pressure of the media scrutiny of her life as she hosted Saturday Night Live last night (except maybe in the somewhat off-key singing of her two songs during the show).

Like any SNL ep, the show had highs and lows. Our favorite moments: the “We Are The World” remake parody at the start of the show and another sketch in which J. Lo played herself and went a little crazy with the Latina, yelling “Ay, ay, ay!” She’s very adept at making fun of herself, which actually makes her pretty endearing.

If you watched the show last night (or this morning on the DVR) how do you think J. Lo did? Take our poll below and let us know.

Controversy: Simon And Ellen’s ‘Idol’ Feud

cbd4a4e55dCowell.jpg Controversy: Simon And Ellen’s ‘Idol’ FeudIf the rumors are to be believed, a feud between Ellen Degeneres and Simon Cowell is heating up on American Idol. According to TMZ, Ellen thinks Simon is unnecessarily cruel to contestants, and Simon likes to antagonize Ellen by being cruel to them. Ah, your typical sibling relationship.

So, are they really feuding? An Idol rep didn’t return our call for comment, but we can understand why Simon and Ellen wouldn’t get along. And you know what? We’re going to have to side with Simon on this one. Like the song goes, you’ve got to be cruel to be kind, Ellen. While she seemed promising during her Hollywood week debut, Ellen’s played it safe since then. Even kind of boring, actually. And we don’t think Simon’s down with that. (Say what you will about Paula, but those are two things she never was.)

Another theory floating around Crushable headquarters is that perhaps Simon isn’t liking the fact that Ellen’s more famous than he is. Idol has always been his show, and suddenly he’s not the star anymore. Diva alert! Maybe that’s why he’s headed off to X-Factor (and taking Paula with him?).

Do you think Simon and Ellen are actually fighting? Whose side are you on?
