‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through my house…Avril music interrupts the Christmas carols now and again.

I hope that you are all having a safe and very merry holiday season.

Avril is lying low this Christmas. She last posted on her MySpace blog on December 5, speaking of how she performed for the charity Teleton Mexico City. In the post, Avril seems to already be in the holiday spirit.

“Learn about the world outside of your own and try and do whatever you can to give back. Even small actions have an impact,” stated Avril in the blog.

To me, that sums up a big part of the spirit of Christmas that should be carried all year. I challenge myself and my fellow Avril fans to take the advice to heart. Do a small thing every day to give back in whatever way you can. That, in and of itself, can make a huge difference.

You all probably know this by now so it may not be news but I just want to get you even more stoked for Avril Lavigne’s guest judge position on American Idol. The new season will start in January 2010 and looks better then ever because there are so many guest judges. It just seems natural that they would pick Avril because she is a young talent and can probably relate more to the contestants.

I scored this great promo video from the Ellen Degeneres show (the new judge on the show) and you can catch a sneak peak of Avril. It’s only for a second but it’s really exciting.

As you know Avril Lavigne performed in Mexico for a fundraiser this past weekend and the crowd went mental. She performed an acoustic only set with past band mate Evan Taubenfeld.  They totally rocked it. I found a better quality video of them performing ‘Girlfriend’ which I thought was really cool to hear as an acoustic version. I guess we should get used to hearing Avril playing acoustic only sets since her fourth album due out in early 2010 is going to mainly acoustic.

And because this song was the most popular track on this album I’ve included the original music video after the jump! You know, just for nostalgic sake.

Everyone wants to know who Avril Lavigne is dating next and anytime she’s out with friends (or guys) the media jumps all over it. It’s interesting to see people (or witnesses) perspectives about what she’s doing.  Apparently last night Avril was at a club in New York ‘making out with a mystery man’.  So does that mean no more Brandon Davis or Wilmer Valderrama? Or does it simply mean that she’s moving on with her life and enjoying being single?

Let’s face it Avril is a babe who is recently single. Wouldn’t you be partying it up everywhere? And maybe even kissing a few boys. She’s 25 years old so I think she’s earned it.

I say rock on Avril because I know when I was single all I wanted to do was have fun. I didn’t want to settle down or have a boyfriend yet. After all she just got a divorce it would be way too soon.

What I really want to know is what she’s doing in New York?
In spirit of Avril Lavigne being single and playing the field I’ve included a live version of “You Can Do Better” after the jump!

That’s right Avril, you can do better so don’t settle on any chumps!

I’m sure we’re all familiar with Avril Lavigne’s Canon commercials. Every holiday season there is a new one and I have to admit I’m a huge fan of the 2009 commercial. Mainly because Avril is wearing one of her favorite Abbey Dawn hoodies. She has been spotted wearing this hoodie on several occasions and I can understand why. It’s totally rad.

You may already know this but Avril Lavigne met Wilmer Valderrama on the set of ‘Fast Food Nation‘ over two years ago. There is a lot of buzz about their alleged relationship and everyone wants to know if it’s true. They’ve been spotted around Hollywood being very close and affectionate and apparently on their first dates but as I’ve said before that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

Maybe the two have had an ongoing friendship since the filming of their movie together. Or Wilmer is trying to hook up with Avril (since he loves young, attractive celebrities) and Avril is leading him on. Who knows.

Regardless Avril is single and it’s only natural for everyone to be so concerned about who she’s going to be dating next.

Well first I have to say congratulations to Avril Lavigne for earning such a title. There are a lot of great Canadians to choose from and she landed number 40 out of 100.  How she earned this position? For being “a role model for throngs of teenage girls”. I’ve always said that her songs and her career are an inspiration to all young ladies.

Now it’s confirmed, she truly is an inspiration and a positive role model. Even if she’s been caught partying and giving the parazzi the finger.

For someone who grew up in a small town in rural Ontario, Canada it says a lot when you can become a super pop star practically over night. Although there’ s no doubt she works hard she definitely deserves a pat on the back! Her voice will definitely continue to sell millions of records and concert tickets!

She’s not only a role model because of her voice but she’s also a fashion icon. Everyone loves her style! Check out this cute YouTube video someone did of her photo shoot in Elle Canada.
