Disney Features Avril’s Song in New Film Trailer
Disney is already putting Avril’s song “Alice” to good use in marketing Tim Burton’s upcoming 3D film version of “Alice in Wonderland.” A commercial airing on ABC Family (which is Disney-owned) prominently featured Avril Lavigne’s haunting new ballad as it showed clips from the movie. I already wanted to see the movie, but all of this has me more and more excited about it. How about you?
Don’t forget that “Alice” is also available for download on iTunes, and there’s a version to be released with the soundtrack that is extended.
Here’s the commercial in case you missed it. Enjoy!

Avril Graces the front Page of Perez Hilton’s Blog
It must be frustrating for Avril that these rumors are going around, but they say the only bad publicity is no publicity.
Avril made Perez Hilton’s blog today, in a story that states the info we reported a couple of days ago, sourced from “The Toronto Sun”: that a music agent is claiming Avril’s album will be delayed because of friction with her ex-husband. Perez claims that the title of Avril’s new album will be “Pink Crust,” but that has not been confirmed. Other reports claim that is not the case.
Click here to see this story and other Avril entries by Perez. The website advertises itself as a gossip website. So reader beware.

Andrew Lloyd Webber Seeks an Avril Lavigne
Classic Time Mag Cover of Andrew Lloyd Webber
Andrew Lloyd Webber, the genius of Broadway, is thinking of Avril as he attempts to cast Dorothy in “Over the Rainbow,” a talent search series to find the star of his new show, “The Wizard of Oz.” Webber’s past achievements include “Phantom of the Opera,” “Evita” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” He’s won Emmys, Grammys and an Academy Award. He is now looking to cast one of his most ambitious projects yet, a version of “The Wizard of Oz” that goes a step beyond the musical, and he’s written at least a half-dozen songs in addition to the great music contained in the movie.
His search for a Dorothy to lead his show began in Scotland this week. The Sun did an article on his search. In it, he commented, “”I want a Dorothy with attitude! She’ll be more Avril Lavigne than Judy Garland.” He went on to say, “I don’t want to go for a Dorothy who’s all peaches and cream. Anyone like Avril Lavigne or a bit like Amy Winehouse or something along those lines would be great.”

Avril Lavigne Alice in Wonderland Video
Good morning, Avril fans. We announced yesterday that Avril will provide the soundtrack single for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.” This is an enormous honor, and it’s a great way for Avril’s music to be discovered by even more people.
In celebration of this news, enjoy this fun video below.
I found this video on YouTube. It was created two years ago, so don’t think it has anything to do with the new “Alice” movie. Instead, it’s an “Alice in Wonderland” cartoon fan video made to Avril’s great song, “My World.” I think this YouTube user was a bit psychic.

Avril to Provide Soundtrack Single for “Alice in Wonderland”
Hi, Avril fans! Lots of updates today.
According to this article on Variety.com, Avril is going to provide the single for the soundtrack to the long-awaited and much-advertised Tim Burton movie, “Alice in Wonderland.” The single will be called “Alice Underground.”
This news has spread fast. From official sources like Variety to endless personal blogs to answers at Yahoo.com and Wikipedia, this appears to be news that can get the seal of truth approval from AvrilGroupie.com!
The movie “Alice In Wonderland” is going to get a nationwide release on March 5, 2010. It’s going to be in Disney 3-D. As a fan of both Tim Burton and, of course, Avril Lavigne, I am really psyched about seeing it. March 2, 2010 is the slated release date for Avril’s single. That’s just one day late for my birthday.
Although some other fan websites claim that the single “Alice Underground” is also going to be from her own album, Avril has made no announcements on whether the song will simply be a soundtrack exclusive.

How Avril’s Divorce is Allegedly Impacting Her New Album

Avril’s album is set for release early this year. It’s an acoustic album that is supposed to reveal yet another side of Avril. Unfortunately, according to several reports that were released today, there have been problems for the album. Why? Because one of the producers is Deryck Whibley, who is soon-to-be Avril’s ex-husband. “The Toronto Sun” quoted a music agent as saying, “”The uglier it gets in court, the uglier it gets in the studio.” The same source went on to tell the newspaper, “The first eight songs, Avril and Deryck worked with a lot of love and it came easy. But there’s three or four more to do and they just ain’t feeling it.”
RadarOnline.com has stated that the album was originally slated to be released in November 2009, but the couple’s divorce drama got in the way. According to the website, Deryck’s seeking–and Avril’s refusing–of spousal support created friction. The two were apparently then unable to settle on a schedule to finish up the album. Worst predictions are seeing mid-2010 as a release date, but Avril fans are trying to think positively.
I learned that “The Toronto Sun” is widely perceived as a tabloid. As such, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt, but that was the news released today. I know I’m hoping to hear the album in the next couple of months.

Avril Gift Set Finds at Kohl’s
Avril Lavigne: Black Star Gift Set (My Personal Photo)
While doing some post-holiday necessity shopping at Kohl’s, I came across a lot of New Year deals of Avril Lavigne merchandise. There’s a sale on her clothing line. While this particular Kohl’s was short on Abbey Dawn accessories, it had Black Star gift sets I hadn’t seen before.
There was one I couldn’t resist: the great perfume plus small speakers for my iPod with the Avril Lavigne/Black Star logo on the back. Perfect. It was also ten perfect off, as per Kohl’s current sale.
I have raved on the perfume before, but it really is a must-smell. Rather than just buying the perfume, I recommend taking advantage of the gift sets they have now if you can.
Great deals. I also saw another I was tempted to buy: two different-sized bottles of the perfume in one cool package.
Have you come across any cool Avril finds at your local Kohl’s? If so, we’d love to hear about it.
